English Teacher position beginning October 2008
We are a small English/Spanish language school in 'surf city' Chile. Pichilemu, population 12,000, is a small town with many Chilean summer tourists and a growing number of international tourists and surfers.
The Pichilemu Institute of Language Studies opened in October 2005. We are looking for 1 teacher or a couple willing to share the workload with the following requirements:
• Native English Speaker
• BA in a relative subject and experience or
• BA and a TEFL certificate or
• Demonstrate (3 years) experience in ESL
• Intermediate Spanish Level
Our Teacher must:
• Enjoy working with children
• Be flexible and creative in their lesson plans
We are offering an 8 month contract with a possible extension. The salary is minimal $200,000 ($400US) pesos/month but includes housing at the school, most utilities, and Spanish classes. You work no more than 25 class hours/week with 2 full weekend days off and 1 week paid vacation over the Christmas holidays. Our classes are mostly private and small group, with ages ranging from 5 to adult. It's an ideal position for someone looking to work and surf in a relaxed environment.
