Conversational English Teacher Job Description:

Explore the field of teaching and gain valuable international work experience on your resume immediately! TRAKS International USA-Asia offers five and ten month teaching contracts available each year in May and October.

Program Benefits include: Salaried contract, (23,000-30,000 Thai baht, depending on experience). Pre-departure assistance, free accommodations, International medical insurance, orientation, airport pickup and transport, assistance with work permits, in-country support, pre-departure briefing and return airfare for ten month participants. Participants travel to Thailand independently.

Duties: Teaching assignments are either at primary or secondary schools in Thailand. Participants will be teaching conversational English to Thai students who already know English but need practice in reading, writing and speaking the language. Participants do not have to have teaching experience and they do not need to speak the Thai language.

The approach to teaching conversational English is with games, songs, music, art and lots of fun activities. Schedule is approximately 20-35 hours a week, (depending on school); Monday through Friday, with Thai holidays and weekends free. Teachers will be responsible for developing lesson plans under the guidance of Thai English faculty, classroom management, attending faculty meetings, extra-curricular activities and the opportunity to participate in English camps throughout the semester.


Qualifications:

1. Native proficiency in English
2. Bachelor’s degree (any field)
3. Valid passport 6 months beyond length of contract
4. 21 years of age
5. Flexibility, resourcefulness, independence and willingness to discover a new culture.
