Reading Town Yeongju is a privately owned language school whose teachers and owner are first and foremost dedicated to improving the English language ability of their students.
We are currently looking to add two experienced English teacher to our team of three foreign and three Korean teachers.
Our school. The majority of our students are elementary school students, from 3rd-6th grade, with some middle school students in the later classes. Maximum class size is only 12 students, with teachers meeting the same classes 5 days a week. This allows teachers to genuinely get to know students and take an active interest in their progress. Classrooms have air conditioning and heating, there is a good supply of resources in the teacher’s room, and the school owner is always interested in ways to improve the learning environment.
Working conditions:
The basic contract is for 30 teaching hours (50 minutes each) plus 10 preparation hours per week. Teachers come in at 1:00PM for preparation time, and teach from 3:00PM-8:50PM.
We have two 3-day vacations(usually satrting on a Wednesday),one in summer and one in winter, when the school is closed. We are now also offering teachers a 5-day individual break, which can be taken once the teacher has completed six months service. This is a total of 11 days, plus public holidays of course.
Teachers have private apartments that are fully equipped, with TV, video, automatic washer, fridge, blankets, dishes. Apartments have air conditioning and floor heating. Salary: For a 30 teaching-hour contract our school is now offering W2.2 million won sstarting. If you wish to work more hours you will be paid more accordingly.
Legal requirements: We will only hire foreign teachers who can LEGALLY work in South Korea. You must be a citizen of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. or Ireland with at least a bachelor’s degree from a legitimate university in an English-speaking country. If you do not meet the legal requirements we will not be able to hire you.
